In addition to raising my twin girls and son, the last 8 years, has been spent collecting vintage patterns and experimenting with different fiber and mixed media techniques. I have documented my creative process with digital photos to share the techniques with folks. I learn much faster by seeing a technique performed then by reading it in a book, and think that many other artists probably learn that way too.

My goal is to preserve vintage or antique patterns to share with future generations. Restoring old patterns is much harder than I thought it would be. I thought the hardest part was finding old patterns to buy at estate sales, flea markets, eBay, etc. Boy way I wrong...Once you find the pattern- if you are lucky all the pieces are there- if not you may have to buy the pattern several times before being able to restore all the pieces of the original pattern. Then the fun begins, most of the motifs are so old they are not useable so they need to be hand I retrace and or redraw. It is truly a labor of love.

Downloadable Sewing Patterns

New for Fall 2011 is our line of downloadable sewing patterns in PDF format. We currently have about 20 patterns available for download online and we are adding new patterns each week. The download patterns are great because they are available cheaper then printed patterns and they are almost instantly available. Love that we can offer patterns that you do not have to drive to go pick up or pay extra to have them shipped to you. I have been taking step by step photos of the projects and adding instructions of many of my sewing projects. Hopefully that will help you if you are interested in making them also.
